Intellectual connection

Off late there are too many connections and quotients people are talking about; Intellectual Quotient, Emotional Quotient, Sexual Quotient, and god knows how many more quotients are there. And let me tell you, all these quotients connect to “baap of all quotients”. The MQ! Yeah, “Money Quotients”! Kidding!

I haven’t really thought too much about all these quotients. But the one which really bugged me is “
Intellectual Connection” I don’t really remember exactly where I heard this but it really put me to think about it a lot.

Recently in my organization a panel debate was organized. Two smart and intelligent groups of people were sitting across the table debating, “How well we connect with our associates?” Most of the views were to build a good relation with our associates. How? Go with them for coffee, talk to them about there family, talk to them about their issues/concern, and some even went to extent of taking associates to home for dinner and lunch.

I was so much caught with all this and said, is this the connection we need in an office environment? Does some one build a close relation with his manger because he took him for dinner to his home? I felt na... this isn’t true! People are not here in the office to build great emotional relation. They are here to work, excel and earn livelihood. Yes along with this they also need few good people to talk, share and laugh with them so need to build a good relation with them.

Then what is it? How to does relations get built? I think Intellectual Connection gives and answer for this.

When you meet your boss or a collegue for first few times, you start connecting to the person. You start your first step for Intellectual connection from the first meet! Every interaction with the person you have, every instance you get to hear him, you are constantly consciously or unconsciously building intellectual connection. It just does not happens only in the professional environment, it happens in all type of relation every day.

You would automatically get attracted to the people “whom you think” are smart and intelligent. You would start thinking of spending time with the people with whom you make a positive intellectual connection. If the other person also connects you on the intellectual connection, the relation turns stronger. Let me be cautious about the Emotional connections when I say this. I believe once two people get connected, the longevity of the relation depends on the emotional bonding people get to. No question about that.

Who has not heard about first site love! You find very few people who would deny that. That is like a seed which just sprout. Once people start interacting, the kick which keeps them to grow their relation to next level of shrub is Intelligent Connection. Usually when people meet, they talk about their hobbies, what they do in the free time etc. Their might not be anything common, but in those answers there is a message given out about once IQ. If this gets exciting, relation gets to next level of bonding. Based on the care, affection, humbleness, understanding and reciprocation of other person to your need, emotional connection grows and bonds.

When I googled about Intellectual connection, It was not surprising for me to see the Sexual attraction happens based on the Intellectual Quotient. Especially women get attracted to intelligent men! Well I’m not saying this, the research has shown this.

When I say Intellectual Connection, I don’t mean that people will get attracted to extremely intelligent people. What I mean is, two people with similar liking and intelligence will connect much faster and better.

Bottom line, Intellectual connection has become more prominent in professional environment and has a high impact in personal relationsh

“Where are we?” Rahul asked Sandy. Rahul, Sandy and Taran have no clue where they have come. “It looks like we are in 2nd floor of an auditorium”, Sandy murmured looking down the floor, looking at a huge staircase. They kept on moving step by step holding each others hand with the mild fluorescent light from some of the broken windows.

Their hands are wet; eyes are wide open to get as much visibility as possible. “Taran… hold on…” Rahul shouted. Taran slipped and fell down!! Sandy quickly grabbed Tarans’s hand who is hanging down without a support. “Taran, hold on tight dude, my hand is slippery...” Sandy screamed… “Rahul get something to pull him up…” Rahul removes his belt and hangs down to Taran. “Taran, catch it”… Taran is shivering… he is not able to hold on. He is loosing the grip. “Sandy … pull me up pls.. pls..”. Taran slipped out of Sandy’s hand! Within no time Taran fell down from the first floor and started rolling down the stairs which was taking him down to basement.

Step 1, 2, 3… as he rolls down the stair, the carpet on the floor wraps him around. “Hey, what is that...?” Rahul sees a face emerging from the steps. It’s a man! Soon, they see a young man out of no where. Speechless Rahul looks at Sandy with his jaw dropped down. “What the heck is that?” Rahul screamed! With a shock on their face, they look down to see Taran wrapped with the floor carpet and floating on something. “Sandy… Rahul… please help me..!” Still dark, with poor visibility, Rahul and Sandy are trying to find Taran. The ‘man’ walks down to Taran and stands towards the head of floating Taran. With a smile on his face, pushes his hand inside the carpet. Dropping blood through his hand, he pulls a handful of flesh from Taran’s chest and puts in his mouth. Taran tries to scream looses his breath… Silence… no words... Somewhere down, water droplets… sound of munching… Rahul and Sandy are drenched in the sweat and shivering with fear. The man and the floating body are not visible any more..!!!

“Sandy… It’s a Dracula man….” Rahul looks into Sandy’s eyes.

Sitting in a dark corner, Rahul and Sandy have no clue what to do... They removed there sneakers which were wet with sweat... They can hear their heart pounding loud, dried mouth, trying to get their breath!

Colorful balloons… floating around... Where are they coming from..? They are being thrown from ground floor. Sandy looks at the balloons and says “wow... lovely balloons” Rahul is wondering who is throwing over here... one more balloon, many more... Rahul and Sandy got up and looked down. A lovely boy is throwing these balloons with a smile on his face. Sandy catches on of them and throws back to the boy. “Wait Sandy, don’t do that. I’m afraid, who is this guy?” One more balloon at Sandy and Rahul. Rahul catches it and bursts it. Sandy catches and throws that back… “What the heck are you doing Sandy… dude, let’s go get out of here” Rahul shouts at Sandy. One more balloon to both of them. Rahul catches that and bursts it again. He pulls out the burst balloon and watches it carefully. “Hey wait a minute! These are not ordinary balloons. It is so thick. These are not balloons. Where is he getting so many balloons and how is he able to blow them so fast? Sandy look we need to get the hell out of here… let’s go common”. Sandy is not there! He is trying to catch the balloons.. “Hey, watch out! You are stretching too much...” Rahul runs to hold Sandy. One more balloon pops up at a far distance. Sandy stretched to get that… slips and he falls…

“Sandyyyyyyyyyyyy…. “Rahul watches him falling down. Sandy turns back while falling; he looks into Rahul’s eyes. Rahul’s eyes read…“Good bye my dear friend”. The boy catches Sandy in his arms smiles at Rahul & dissolves in the darkness. Rahul crashes down. Absolutely no clue... What the hell is happening! Sandy… Taran...!!!!

Rahul decides to move out of the bloody hell. Gets up and starts looking for way out. There it is... but it is going down!!! Fine, let me go... I’ll go out of this hell or will join my friends. Takes step by step down…

“Hey wait… don’t go there... It is dangerous out there...” Rahul shouts at group of guys and gals running up there..!!! They don’t bother. One guys stops and asks “what are you up to?” “I… I wanna go out of this place…” “Ok ok… go down take left… you’ll get the exit”. Rahul walks down turns to left to see the exit.

Beautiful world... It’s a big circle with lamp posts at the corner. A fountain at the middle circle and lot flowers around it. Vehicles are moving around the big circle slowly. Children are playing in near by small ground. Young couple looking at each other holding hand sitting in coffee bar and sipping coffee. An old man is sitting on the corner stone with a news paper in his hand and smoking cigar.

Rahul takes couple of step and looks back to the building he has come from. ‘It’s a theatre!’ looks at the wall poster. ‘Dracula’, the movie running..!!! He pinches himself and says, ‘hmm, I was watching a movie!!!’ Ouch, a small stone pricks his bare foot. ‘Where is my sneaker...? I left it inside...!’ Decides to get them… Walks into the theatre…

Lights are on... lot of people walking around. Some people have already taken their seat. Where do I find my sneaker? Searches all over, couldn’t find them. Well this is not where I was… asks some one, “Excuse me, how many levels are there in this theatre?” “Its 3; you also have middle level and the balcony” Rahul decides to move to middle level. He doesn’t know where he was sitting. Puts his hand inside the pocket and pulls out the tickets. A51, A52 and A53! He has 3 tickets... where are the other two..!!!! Goes to A53, where he was sitting. ‘My shoes must be in the next row’. Looks at B53… He finds his brother, Sister in law and nephew sitting in those seats! He doesn’t find the shoes and takes his step out of the theatre.

“One hot black coffee please… Lady, make that strong without sugar” Pulls out the cigarette from the pocket. “Wait a minute… where is my belt...!”

Looks at the ticket again... A51, A52 and A53… Sandy and Taran, where are they? Where is my shoe and belt..??
